In this hour long demo you will learn a very simple, yet versatile technique that will allow you to turn your unwanted sweaters into excellent beasts that will amaze your friends and maybe even your family. Only basic sewing skills are needed. All supplies will be provided.

Midori Ribbon Makes Ribbon Flowers

Join Midori Ribbon for a demonstration of how to make ribbon flowers and incorporate them into simple, meaningful gifts. These cool little ribbon flowers use recycled ribbon pieces and are made using glue and a winding technique instead of sewing. At this interactive demo we will show you how to make these no-sew flowers and how to turn them into brooches. We will also have examples and tips for how to turn no-sew flowers into a myriad of other awesome gifts – such as corsages, gift toppers, or use as colorful additions to clothing, bookmarks, decorations, chokers, headbands, bracelets, and more.

Learn how to turn a recycled bottle bottle cap into a mini work of art that can be used for a plethora of things with artist, Thea Starr, who teaches resin classes at Redmond's Ben Franklin Crafts and has over 20 years of experience with the medium.



4:00 to 5:00 p.m.: Becky Stern

Sew a Simple Circuit: an Introduction to Soft Electronics

Becky Stern will show you how to use conductive thread to add an LED to fabric. She'll also show examples of nontraditional conductive materials and sample uses in soft electronics and wearable computing.
