We are so excited that Heidi is a part of our fabulous author line up!
Check out her interview below and make sure to catch her at the show! Heidi will be signing her book on Saturday from 12:00pm-1:00pm and Sunday from 3:00pm -4:00pm.

Tell us a bit about yourself, your book.
HK: My name is Heidi Kenney and for the past 8 years I have run a website called My Paper Crane where I blog about the things I make and do. Just before Christmas my first book came out and it's called Every Day's A Holiday. I have two boys and I have a firm belief of celebrating! I love any excuse to make a day special, and in my book I have 50 crafting ideas for celebrating holidays all year long.

What inspired you to write it/pursue your project?
HK: I was actually approached by Chronicle and asked if I would be interested in the project. They thought it would be  good fit.

What's your favorite part? :)
HK: It's hard to pick a favorite part but I really enjoyed making the recycled robots with my youngest son, and the watermelon monster always seems to be a hit at parties.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
HK: My kids, life, thrift shopping, old children's books..

Are you currently working on something new?
HK: I might be making some brand new products with two companies, but it is always a long process that I hate to talk about it until things are finalized, since things can sometimes fall through.

Any tips for writers/crafters who might be thinking of writing their own book?
HK: I would say just put yourself out there. If you have a blog try and keep it updated consistently. Just keep doing something you love and don't give up if it takes awhile before publishers notice.
