Tell us bit about yourself, your company.
FW: Hi, my name's Alexa Allamano and I'm the brains and the hands behind Foamy Wader. I've been making gemstone jewelry since 2008 and knit beards since 2009. My last name translates to "by hand" so it was only natural that I would work with my manos.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
FW: I wanted to act. I did all through school and got my BA in Drama from UW. I still get to act from time to time in independent films.
Is there a certain person, place or object you draw inspiration from?
FW: The seashore :)
If you had no boundaries: money, time, space, support, etc. what dream project would you pursue?
FW: Developing teleportation. So many places to go and things to see; if travel only took minutes the world would be such a different place.
What’s your favorite thing to do to kill time? Any secret Internet time wasters, guilty pleasures?
FW: The "mama cat hugs baby kitten" video is my current youtube obsession. Can't. Stop. Watching.
Where do you like to go when you just want to get away? A beach, a mall, a market? What’s your favorite type of spot to go unwind.
FW: I love going to the movies. I used to go constantly but nowadays its a rare treat. And of course I love going wading. Carkeek Park is near my house and on a gorgeous sunny day there are few things better than that.
What do you love most about UCU’s Summer Show?
FW: The summer show is like a great big crafty party! The Holidays are such a hectic time that we rarely get the chance to pause and take everything in. The summer is a more easy-going event with far less thrown elbows. Plus, ice cream!

FW: Sparkly delicate gemstone jewelry! I am especially drawn to complex natural stones like Moss Amethyst, Labradorite and Azurite. Nature is pretty amazing. There will be a couple of knit beards available as well :D
