Tell us bit about yourself, your company.

KS- Originally from Scotland I graduated with a BA (hons) degree in Fashion Design for Industry where I specialised in knitwear.  For the past two years I have been focusing full time on my own line which consists mainly of seamed socks and stockings and luxury undergarments.  Everything I knit, I do so on my vintage, manual knitting machines and finish by hand.  I am interested in creating the fabric as much as I am in creating the silhouette. It excites me to come up with new designs that are fresh and yet still very on trend.  Although innovative, my collections are ageless and always very wearable.  I like to flatter the female form as well as make garments women are excited to wear.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

KS- There is an essay I wrote for school when I was ten that states I will be a fashion designer when I grow up.  Following this path through school and working for a sweater trend designer for a few years, I always knew this was what I would do.

Is there a certain person/place/object you draw inspiration from?

KS- I love the twenties and the Jazz age.  Many things I have designed, including my signature stockings, have been inspired by girls from F. Scott Fitzgerald novels.

If you had no boundaries: money, time, space, support, etc. what dream project would you pursue?

KS- I would throw the fashion show of all fashion shows.  It would rival a Chanel production.  Naturally, all my energy will always be put into fashion dreams.

What’s your favorite thing to do to kill time? Any secret Internet time wasters, guilty pleasures?

KS- I dont think I have had a lot of free time since becoming a full time business owner.

Where do you like to go when you just want to get away? A beach, a mall, a market? What’s your favorite type of spot to go unwind.

KS- To break from work in the city I go for a run or ride my bike.  To really get away I want to be on Mediterranean beaches and in Italian wine bars.

If you only had one more meal to eat on this world what would it be? (It can be several courses!)

KS- Always will choose breakfast.  Pancakes, bacon and syrup.

What do you love about most UCU’s Summer Show?

KS- Innovation and quality.

Tell our readers what they should expect to see when they stop by and see you at UCU.

KS- New design and high fashion.  Wearable pieces that are fun, sexy and beautiful.
