Interview: Wonder Thunder!
It's Wonder Thunder! Check 'em out!
Tell us bit about yourself, your company.
WT: Wonder Thunder is a collaborative effort between Meagan Claire Hall and Sasha Barr, two Tennessee transplants living in Seattle, WA.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
WT: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Kristy Swanson years) or a tiger.
Is there a certain person, place or object you draw inspiration from?
WT: We mostly draw inspiration from an imaginary place where animals and vegetables navigate the world, have adventures, and flaunt their buck teeth.
If you had no boundaries: money, time, space, support, etc. what dream project would you pursue?
WT: We would likely pursue building a woodland retreat, some secret getaway, populated with a series of cabins for cooking, creating, guests to stay, and pets to roam.
What’s your favorite thing to do to kill time? Any secret Internet time wasters, guilty pleasures?
WT: We like to take aimless walks through the neighborhoods of Seattle, spy on houses and gardens, meet cats, try to see all the nooks and crannies of the city.
Where do you like to go when you just want to get away? A beach, a mall, a market? What’s your favorite type of spot to go unwind.
WT: Discovery Park is the easiest place to stay in the city and feel like you are in a remote location. Out of town, a weekend stay at the Cama Beach cabins is as good as it gets if you like rustic 80 year old drafty places.
If you only had one more meal to eat on this world what would it be? (It can be several courses)
WT: Grits. Adorned only with salt, pepper, butter, and shrimp.
What do you love about most UCU’s Summer Show?
WT: We've only done the winter show for the past few years, so this time around we're looking forward to seeing people decked in their summertime wardrobes...the first shopper who stops by in jelly shoes gets a free XL veggie bag. And that's a promise!
Tell readers what they should expect to see when they stop by and see you at UCU.
WT: As always, Wonder Thunder will bring you the best screen-printed reusable produce bags you ever did see. We even have a new style in grey for you subtle folks! And lots of organic cotton tea towels, new designs for your viewing pleasure!
