We are so excited to introduce you to our new intern Jenny!  She will be helping out with  many UCU tasks including posting all interviews with our winter vendors (so if you are one of them, except to hear from Jenny from time to time).  We did a little interview with her so you can all get to know her.

Please tell us a bit about yourself and your background.

I grew up in Kansas where I studied biology.  During graduate school, I decided biology was not the route for me.  I moved to Seattle to follow a boy who is now my husband.  This past year, I started my own crafty business "A Bird In The Hand Art."

You are crafty yourself.  What have you been working on these days?  Any long time faves?  New obsessions?

Lately I have been doing a lot of decorative painting.  I have always been crafty and have experimented with a variety of mediums.  Recently I made some little bird figurines which was really fun; I gave them all accessories and back stories.

What are you looking forward to the most interning with UCU?

Learning!  I'm such a nerd and I love new learning experiences.  The people at UCU are so aweome, I can't wait to meet other crafters and bask in their arty glow.

Fall is in the air!  What's your favorite soup recipe?

Cream of mushroom soup.  Creamy soups are the best and I like mushrooms.

What are you dressing up as for this year's Halloween?  Do you have a favorite all time costume?

I don't know yet!  Last year I was Princess Peach and my husband was Mario.  That has definitely been one of my favorites.
