Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? How did you get started doing what you do?
SS: We are both originally born and raised in Washington state. Jacqui grew up in a small town in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, roaming through the woods in search of undiscovered plants and animals. Scott spent most of his childhood on both the east and west side of Washington, when he wasn't skateboarding he was drawing and vise versa. We met in art school, it was instant attraction, after we graduated we worked a few jobs in the design world before realizing our real dream was to own our own company making and designing  things that we feel good about and gets us excited everyday.

What would we find in your refrigerator right now? Be honest! :)
SS: A 1/3 full bottle of almond milk, cheese, tofu, peanut butter and almond butter, a few eggs, various nuts and seeds, miso, various condiments, leftovers, and lots of fruit and veggies.

Who has been most influential/supportive in your craft?
SS: Our biggest support and motivation has been each other, we both keep each other going, we feed off each others ideas. There is a lot of 'what if...' going on when we are working on projects.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? These can be crafty-powers too!
SS: Jacqui: Flight.
Scott: I'd like to have a superhuman memory and inspiration storage station in my head.

How do you find inspiration and/or get out of any creative slumps?
SS: We open our inspiration storage stations, just kidding, well maybe... We have our hands in so many different creative things that if we get stuck, say designing on the computer, we can break away and do some production work, like screen printing or sewing product, which usually helps clear cobwebs. We really like being outside and disconnected to the online world too. It helps us recharge and come back with clear minds.

Aside from being a creative master, what other hats do you wear?
SS: Jacqui: I love to cook and bake. I'm also getting really into gardening, although the challenge of this is not having my own yard yet. I also really like to create and style little vignettes to photograph for our shop.
Scott: I am hardly a master of anything, but I enjoy drawing and photography.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. With whom would it be?
SS: Jacqui: A deep sea animal, maybe a whale. I want to know what's down there and undiscovered!
Scott: probably someone with a completely opposite lifestyle than I have, as long as they were a good person.

Is there a handmade item that you cherish most? If so, tell us about it.
SS: Jacqui: A small hand-carved sail boat that Scott made for me when we were first dating. I pretty much love everything he makes for me.
Scott: Jacqui made me a slick back pack from a salvaged wind board sail that I use when we ride bikes, it's great.

Is this your first time at UCU?
SS: No, we did the UCU Holiday Show this past December. A tip, come prepared and get plenty of sleep the night before. You will feel much more calm and prepared if you know you have everything ready to go. You'll have more fun too!

Tell us something unknown about you/your company...  Let’s hear a random/fun fact!
SS: When the waves are good we grab our wetsuits and surfboards and head for the coast.
