Vendor Interview- Silent Goddess

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work.
I have a studio full of tools, metals and lots & lots of beads! I feel so blessed that I am able to spend my days working away at my bench creating small wearable pieces of art. Over the last 20 plus years I have learned so many different techniques basically through lots of trial and error and feel like each day brings something new to the table (or bench, I should say). I love what I do!!
What are some sources of inspiration for your work?
My biggest inspiration is right outside of my studio window. 100 foot towering pine trees, fiddlehead ferns and bright, happy blossoming flowers just feet away give me so many ideas to translate into metal. I love to figure out how to create the gentle curve of a flower petal out of a rigid piece of copper. Or build a twiggy branch out of sterling wire. Nature is such an amazing resource.
What was the best thing you did with your summer?
I was blessed to be able to go back to my home state of Wyoming over Fourth of July weekend and spend time with my family at Devils Tower. We spent the days eating such great food, playing games and just being together. Since we all live in different corners of the west coast we don't get to see each other nearly enough. It was such a wonderful trip and along the way I was able to tackle a good portion of my fear of flying. What a gift that was!
Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?
I am excited to be working on new vintage travel trailer designs for the Winter UCU! These little gems have been such a hit and I love coming up with different styles! I am also rolling out a new line of torch fired enameled pendants that I will be bringing along for the show! I can't wait!!
What are you most excited about for UCU?
I couldn't be more excited about getting to be a part of the Winter 2011 UCU!! I love to meet with people, talk about metal and share my art jewelry with them. I am also really excited to meet the other artists!
