Vendor Interview and Giveaway- Agnes
Posted by jenny on November 26, 2011

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work:
I am a born & bred Portland girl with a penchant for ancient sparkly things. My work consists of antiques, vintage goodies & curios that have been repurposed into one-of-a-kind necklaces. It turns out that my antique jewelry hoarding has come in quite handy nowadays. :)
What are some sources of inspiration for your work?
I dream of old ladies handing over boxes of forgotten jewelry & digging through secret rooms filled with treasures. I'm obsessed with shows like American Pickers & Oddities; it's comforting to know that there are more people out there that don't mind wading through dusty seas in order to find something special.
What was the best thing you did with your summer?
I took a small break from jewelry making & focused on some sewing projects & paintings that have been left in the corner for too long. I find that I make prettier things if I rotate my interests around a bit.
Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?
Always! Each piece is one of a kind so every time I sit down to make something it's brand new (this is very conducive to my rampant A.D.D.). This will be my first show of the 2011 Holiday Season so all you UCU-ers will get first picking!
What are you most excited about for UCU
I always look forward to being around so many crafty people in an environment that truly celebrates locally & cleverly made wares. Plus this is my first time! I'm a little nervous (as always) but I am so looking forward to the UCU experience! Can't wait!
Want to win some of your own Agnes jewelry? Leave a comment on this post for your chance to win the necklace shown above and a pair of earrings! A winner will be chosen at random and you can pick up your prize at the show.
