Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work.
Bread and Badger is the husband and wife team of me and my husband, Sean. I create the art and run the online side of things, and Sean does the sandblasting. Together, we make original glassware to help you express your personality through your housewares.

Our glassware is sandblasted using handmade stencils of my original artwork. Our high quality new, recycled and reclaimed materials make long-lasting functional artwork for everyone.

What are some sources of inspiration for your work?
I’ve been particularly drawn to the power that iconic imagery has on the psyche, and the way people react to it. I love nostalgic designs that remind people of another time in their lives, like childhood innocence. I also love creating something that very simply captures and represents a concept--I challenge myself to keep my artwork as minimalistic as possible.

What was the best thing you did with your summer?
Sean and I had a baby! We've spent all our time since then learning to be parents and somehow running Bread and Badger too. It's been an amazing summer!

Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?
Yes! We have a new line of colorful glass tumblers that are hand-blown in Oregon from 100% recycled glass (from discarded single-pane windows). They embody everything that our company believes in, and they're spectacularly nice to look at and hold.

What are you most excited about for UCU?
We missed a lot of summer shows this year because of our new baby, so I'm really looking forward to seeing our Seattle friends and fans again. The shoppers in Seattle are so supportive and friendly, it's always a real highlight of the UCU experience for me to connect with them. It will be our first vending experience with the baby, so I'm a little nervous about that, but it should be fun too.
