Vendor Interview- Lampcycle
Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work.
I have been creating functional art from recycled bicycle parts for around five years. It combines my love of mechanical objects with my passion for art and desire to help the environment.
What are some sources of inspiration for your work?
I love tools and mechanical objects with the patina of age and constant use - as well as Star Wars and Dr. Seuss!
What was the best thing you did with your summer?
I spent the summer opening a stand at Pikes Place Market and looking for new bicycle part sources. I can now say with pride that I am a full time artist.
Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?
Yes - bicycle part based animal figurines and wall ornaments.
What are you most excited about for UCU?
This will be my first big crafts show, so just participating is quite a rush.
