Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work.
We both met in art school, where we quickly learned we enjoyed making with our hands more than sitting at a computer all day. We worked as graphic designers for several years after graduating, but soon realized how much we missed making tactile items and started up Slide Sideways as a way to make what we love everyday. Three years later our screen printed products fill people's homes with color and cheerful imagery. Everything we make starts from our illustrations, then are transferred to a piece of paper or fabric, printed by Scott and sewn by Jacqui.

What are some sources of inspiration for your work?
We spend all our free time in the great outdoors and you can really see it translate into a lot of our work. We also find inspiration in vintage, the everyday, books/magazines, music, and culture.

What was the best thing you did with your summer?
We had many great adventures up on Mt. Rainier this year, camping and hiking. We also got in lots of surfing.

Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?
We have several new things this year that we're really excited about. We have a new tea towel, new posters, a new color for our popular "Market Weave" zip pouch as well as new screen printed holiday gift wrap!

What are you most excited about for UCU?
Seeing our crafty friends and talking with everyone who enjoys our products!

I adore your pencil bags with colored pencils on them and your vegetable bags. Sweet stuff!
