Vendor Interview- Stuffed Pals
Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work.
My name is Lily and by day I am a mental health therapist in Portland, Oregon. I started making stuffed animals for friends and then decided to expand it into a business. Stuffed Pals Heirloom Animals is a green business, and most of the materials I used are recycled.
What are some sources of inspiration for your work?
It might sound strange, but the fibers themselves suggest things to me! Cashmere is my favorite fiber, and it inspires me daily. Additional inspirations are both children's books and my cat, Claw.
What was the best thing you did with your summer?
My mother and rented a Forest Service cabin in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. We went hiking, ate huckleberries, and looked at the stars.
Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?
No, but this is my first big show so take it easy on me! I've never done a show this far from home before.
What are you most excited about for UCU?
I love doing craft shows because I always meet so many wonderful, creative people. I'm excited to meet other crafters and see what they do, and to spend some time in Seattle.
Be sure to stop by the show and welcome Lily to Seattle and her first UCU show!
