Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and your work.

I started my business about a year ago, but really in earnest, just in the last six months. I create embroidered art, and sell embroidery patterns and soon (or possibly now, depending on when this is posted) kits! When I'm not stitching or drawing, I'm the mom of two tiny huge-eyed munchkins. (Well, I'm their mom when I'm stitching and drawing too, but you know what I mean . . .)

What are some sources of inspiration for your work?

I love interior design and that is the main source of inspiration for my This Tiny Existence embroidery designs. When I'm trying to come up with new designs, I look through decor blogs, books, and flickr groups.

What was the best thing you did with your summer?

I looked at a wall in my house and thought, 'I don't like that. Does it really need to be there?' And then I knocked it down. And then two of my uncles came and fixed the big mess I made. And I basically launched my business!

Are you showcasing anything new at the winter UCU show?

I'm sure I will have some new embroidered art that I'll be showcasing. I also will have my new iron-on transfer patterns and kits, which are brand new as of pretty much today. I feel like I'm just basically new all around!

What are you most excited about for UCU?

Just being in UCU! I've attended it as a shopper in previous years, and always have thought, 'I want to do that! I want to have a crafting business and do craft fairs and be all cool like the cool venders!' And now I'm going to be in UCU which is basically like a dream come true for me and I'm kind of just ridiculously excited!
