Hi! I’m Mara, owner of Mara Crochets Minis @MaraCrochetsMinis. I fell in love with crocheting Christmas of 2023 when my fiancé purchased a Woobles kit for me as a present, and then I was hooked for life. I enjoy crocheting amigurumi-specific plushies, as well as the casual wearable piece for myself when it is not market season. I’ve grown to appreciate this type of fiber art, and hope to grow into a successful small business in Central Oregon, where we call home. What inspires your work?
My cats, my bunnies, Youtube Crochet artists, Central Oregon wildlife, fantasy novels and movies
What are you most proud of accomplishing within your small business?
I am very proud to have created a small business where I am profiting in a craft that I love doing. I also am proud to have launched Beginner Crochet Lessons this year and create a safe space for adults to learn how to crochet. I am proud to have my plushies selling at a brick and mortar store, I hope to expand my relations and products to other local places in Bend/Redmond.
Are you releasing any new items at these shows this season?
My items are all amigurumi-type plushies still, but I am working on new patterns every day and can’t wait to show off my new stuff!
