My name is Malisa and I own a zero waste essentials boba brand in Tigard, OR @bbteajars. We offer glassware boba reusables, and can custom etch and engrave for personalized gifts. We have blended organic teas with instructions to make boba at home with our curated Zero Waste Boba Kit
What inspires your work?
Being able to collaborate with local makers and seeing the potential I never thought could be possible, and creating unique products. Being a small business owner takes a lot of problem solving, and I really love being able to choose and design the fabric colors of the straw cases, and hoodie sweatshirts and the autonomy of being a creative
Through my small business, I am able to spend quality time with my daughter and family. The main reason I went into entrepreneurship was for her, and now reaching 5 years into the business, I am proud of where it has led me. We curated a Zero Waste Boba Kit, and can say that all our packaging and product is mostly plastic-free. I am proud to create a People and Planet-verified product, our most popular eco-friendly glass boba jar with glass boba straws We now have handmade merch, including embroidered boba hoodies and handmade straw cases for the straws
We recently donated to the Cambodian-American Community of Oregon through our sister brand, Boba Gems. 20% portion of sales went back to a community my family and I has been heavily involved with growing up In past years, we have donated to Black Lives Matter and Equitable Giving Circle.
We want to highlight our embroidered boba hoodies that are in-house embroidered. This year is the first summer we have all 8 designs completed. The design is based off the tea offerings we have combined with our glass boba jars
