Hi! I’m Heather. I make jewelry from vintage china.
I’m really inspired by the unique and stunning china I find and the traditional carving process that I use to transform it into something wearable. There’s so many beautiful designs on china that aren’t always appreciated in the original form. I love finding a new way to highlight the material and make it more useful and admired, and saving these objects from getting dusty on thrift store shelves.
I’m really proud that I have come up with a solution for the predicament many people find themselves in when they have family china that they do not use or have room for, but that is still sentimental in some way. Being able to collaborate with someone on turning their own china into something they will appreciate and can share with other loved ones is so meaningful and makes me feel like I’m helping them give new purpose to their family heirlooms.
10% of all my sales go to the Black Femme Fund. The Black Femme Fund is dedicated to ensuring Black femmes and their children have immediate access to the necessary funds to improve their lives.
I have designed some pendant necklaces in new shapes that are a little more minimal but still show the unique elements of the material.
Urban Craft Uprising was my very first craft show nearly 15 years ago, and I’m excited to be exhibiting with them in Bend!
