My name is Kolbi Lane @kolbilane and I’m a multimedia artist based in Idaho. I have been a professional artist since 2024, but I have been drawing “little guys” my whole life. Every piece I create centers on a character who’s typically doing something silly. I love exploring different mediums, some of my favorites have been zine making, sculpting, and painting. While I create so many different things, they’re all unified by my distinct, cutesy, style!
My work is inspired by kitschy patterns, food, bright colors, and old cartoons. I’ve always loved stories, and one of my favorite things to do is create stories and scenes through my art. Being able to create a piece of art that has multiple different “little guys” living out their “lives” and watching people uncover the stories I hide in each piece is so rewarding to watch!
Through the support I get from my business I have been able to grow so much as an artist! I’ve met so many different creators and learned so many different ways to make art that each event I attend makes me feel more educated and inspired. The knowledge I’ve gained through different art communities is easily my proudest accomplishment.
I will be debuting handmade, punch needle keychains inspired by childhood lunches. I was an elementary school teacher for 4 years before pursing art professionally, and while teaching I always enjoyed seeing what my students would bring for lunch or what they would look forward to having for lunch. I wanted to make a series of pieces that celebrated students’ favorite time of the school day.
